Viktar Žybul (born 1978) is a poet, literary scholar, dramatist, and performing artist from Belarus. He is a member of the “Bum-Bam-Lit” movement and has been involved in numerous literary and theater projects. He was awarded the “Hliniany Vialies” literary prize for his book of collected poetry „Orange“ (hochroth Minsk, 2024). „Muränenröhrling“ is his first volume of poetry to be published in German.
Thomas Weiler (born 1978) translates from Belarusian, Russian, and Polish, mostly prose, but also children’s literature and poetry, e.g. Aleś Razanaŭ, Vera Burlak, Julia Cimafiejeva, and Oleg Grigorjew. In 2024, he was honored with the Paul Celan Prize and the August Wilhelm von Schlegel Visiting Professorship for Poetics of Translation, and in 2025 he received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the category „translation“.
