Liza Chereš is a poet, translator and scholar of literature. She is a graduate student at Harvard University. In 2023 she has won Andrei Bely Prize in “The best project” category as part of the team. She translates from Italian, Polish, German, Yiddish, and other languages. Her first collection of poetry was published by the series Binadroba in 2026.
This book includes the poetry about the history of Belarus and its heroes and heroines. It is inspired by the author’s life in Minsk and by her experience in Belarusian studies. The book is concluded by the texts referencing the poems by the Jewish authors of the Belarusian renaissance, who wrote in Yiddish.
