Hanna Jankuta was born in 1984 in Hrodna. She’s the writer, translator and literary critic. Candidate of Philological Sciences. She’s the author of the book “Час пустазелля” (“Time of Fieldweed”, 2023), and the poetic project “Геалогія”/”Канстытуцыя” (“Geology”/”Constitution”, 2022). Jankuta is also the author of children’s stories, including the series about Šprot the Cat and the book “Марта і яе мара пра снег” (“Marta and her dream of the snow”), as well as numerous articles and essays.
Hanna Jankuta translates Polish and English poetry and prose. Winner of the Aleś Adamovič Prize (2024), the Jerzy Giedroyc Prize (2nd place, 2024), and the Maksim Bahdanovič “Debut” Prize in the category “Literary Translation” (2013). Her works have been translated to German, Danish, Italian, Latvian, English, Spanish, Czech, Slovak, Polish, Lithuanian, Hungarian, and other languages.
