<p class="p1"><strong>Maryja Martysievič</strong> was born in Minsk in 1982. She is the poet, translator, publicist, and organizer of literary events. She is taking her first steps as a publisher, having founded the book series &#8220;Amerykanka&#8221; and &#8220;Hradus&#8221;. Martysievič has published five books of poetry: &#8220;Dragons fly to spawn: Essays in verse and prose&#8221; (&#8220;Цмокі лятуць на нераст: эсэ ў вершах і прозе&#8221;, 2008), &#8220;Embassy: Own poems and poems by others&#8221; (&#8220;Амбасада: вершы свае і чужыя&#8221;, 2011), &#8220;Sarmathia&#8221; (&#8220;Сарматыя&#8221;, 2018), &#8220;How to get rid of Mamatut&#8221; (&#8220;Як пазбыцца Маматута&#8221;, 2020), and &#8220;Watershed&#8221; (&#8220;Водападзел&#8221;, 2022). She received two awards for &#8220;Sarmathia&#8221; in 2019 and the Audience Award of the Václav Burian Prize in Olomouc in 2022.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p1">Lives in Minsk and in Bronnaja Hara.</p>
